After suspending service Tuesday night, the VINE transit system restored partial bus service on Wednesday, but warned of delays on those routes that are open.
Service remains out in the Browns Valley area, and is suspended on the Napa-Sonoma route because of the wildfires, spokesman Derek Moore said. Upvalley service was going only as far as St. Helena. No service is available to Calistoga, which is under evacuation because of a blaze on Mount St. Helena.
Other routes were operating normally, though with likely delays, he said.
Six VINE buses were dispatched to Calistoga early Wednesday to assist in the evacuation, he said.
VINE had suspended service Tuesday so all vehicles could help in evacuating the Veterans Home in Yountville ahead of a blaze burning on Mt. Veeder. That evacuation was cancelled after weather conditions changed and all but the patients in the skilled nursing center were allowed to return home.
