A woman who was arrested early Sunday morning outside the Napa Emergency Winter Shelter faces a felony allegation of bringing drugs into the county jail during her booking, according to police.

At 2:12 a.m., officers were called to the wintertime shelter at the Napa Valley Expo at 575 Third St. after reports of a woman disturbing the peace there, according to Sgt. Nick Dalessi. Police arrested Jennifer Renee Augustine, 44, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

During Augustine's booking at the Napa County jail, a correctional officer found a can in her purse containing suspected methamphetamine, Dalessi said.
