In response to Jerry Cohn’s letter about gun violence (“What do churches have to say about guns?,” March 3), I would refer him to the testimony by the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights and human rights hearing on the “Proposal to Reduce Gun Violence: Protecting our Communities While Respecting the Second Amendment,” on Feb. 12.

I cannot speak for all faith communities, but I am proud of the actions my faith community is taking to influence public policy — not just in the above testimony, but in continuing efforts to influence our lawmakers.

Mr. Cohn noted that he had “been following the media circus about guns and gun control.” Unfortunately, the media do not report widely on the actions taken by religious organizations in this regard. He may want to broaden his search.

If anyone thinks the Constitution has any meaning with liberal Democrats think twice…the Senate has not pass a budget since Obama took office…Senate Democrats, and House when Pelosi ran the regime, have circumvented the constitution close to 2,000 times using Presidential Decree which is supposed to exist only in time of war….that's how obama circumvented federal law to open our boaders and circumvented exporting illegals, passed socialized healthcare etc...Servile State folks...it is what it is.
Understand this if you understand nothing else about modern era liberalism.. if you are not with them you are the enemy….liberalism is at war with everyone who doesn’t parade lock step with them.

We would not have freedom of worship in this country without the 2nd Amendment...and Amendments mean nothing to liberals, nor the entire Bill of Rights for that matter...what matters to them is who is and who is not with them.

I would like it if Rev. Morris or other clergy could clarify why god, Allah, Shiva, Jehovah or whatever god there may be, allows such tragedies as slaughter of children by guns, violence and abortion.
