The Napa City-County Library Foundation has been serving the library since 1984. The purpose of the foundation is to operate exclusively for the benefit of the Napa City County public library system by generating charitable donations to place in an endowment which provides fiscal support.
The foundation has a healthy endowment and provided the library with $35,000 in 2013. The board conducts two fundraising drives per year and is currently in our winter drive. Donations may be made out to the Napa City-County Library Foundation and sent to the foundation in care of the Napa County Public Library in downtown Napa. The foundation also sponsored the successful Let’s Crawl this past September.
The officers elected for 2014 are: Dr. Ed Shenk, president; Stephanie Meyer, vice-president; Diane Brown, secretary; and Gay McGreal, treasurer. The two new board members who joined the board in November are Mary Beth Reyes and Dante R. Young.
The continuing board members are Don Krieger, Betty Lorenz, Dee Dee Nelson, Ian White, Annie Wilcox–Barlettani, and Ellen York. Danis Kreimeier, library director, serves as an ex-officio member.
The board meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. at the library. Inquiries concerning the foundation may be directed to the library and will be forwarded to the board.
Shenk is president of Napa City-County Public Library Foundation board of directors.
