I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, celebrating the recent election results in Vallejo where I work. Congratulations to Bob Sampayan, Robert McConnell, Rozzana Verder-Aliga and most of all Proposition 64.
Thank you to all of the California voters that supported proposition 64. The Adult Use of Marijuana Act. I was so happy to see California decriminalize marijuana. It's not perfect legislation, but it's a step in the right direction.
The holidays got even better on Sunday when my Oakland Raiders crushed the Chargers, guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.
But last Tuesday night, my Christmas was ruined when Leon "the Grinch" Garcia banned medical cannabis delivery and cultivation in my city. Shame on Mayor Grinch and the American Canyon City Council for their reactionary policy on cannabis. Their medical marijuana cultivation, delivery and dispensary bans are draconian.
Did they see the results of Prop. 64? Why did they immediately ban everything?
That's fascism. The oligarchy is trying to reverse our election results instead of implementing them.
Props to my Homie, James Hinton, for fighting the good fight. Power to the People.
