Alvin Lee Shaw, Sr. died Nov. 11, 2012. He was born Oct. 2, 1920, to William and Celia Shaw in Missouri.

Alvin and Margaret Shaw enjoyed 70 years of marriage. They lived in Watsonville, Calif. for many years.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Alvin worked on refrigeration equipment. He came to Napa in 1984 and worked at D’Adamo Tires, before retiring. Mr. Shaw enjoyed bowling and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Shaw of Yountville; daughters Barbara J. Presson of Hot Spring, Mo., and Diane E. Rudy of Fairfield, Calif.; sister Lovelle Sarmento of Castroville, Calif.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may sent at claffeyandrota.com.
