Emelia Ann Patton, a resident of Angwin since 1957, passed away Dec. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born in Pontiac, Mich., to John and Maria Cotes, who emigrated from Romania.

In 1936, she met (and three weeks later married) Jim Patton of Santa Ana. In 1951, they bought a small 16-foot trailer, and with four little children in tow, traveled the United States, Canada and Mexico for four months. A job offer brought the family to Angwin in 1957.

Ann and Jim traveled the world together and she was able to see all the places of her dreams. They were married almost 65 years at the time of his death in 2000.

She is survived by sons Jerry Patton of Redding, David Patton of Mazatlan, Mexico, and Paul Patton (Barbara) of Napa; and daughter Linda Land (Ray) of St. Helena.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Scales Chapel of Pacific Union College. Memories and words of sympathy may be sent to the family online at TulocayCemetery.org.
