Native Napan James Lee Andrew Scroggins died Dec. 8, 2014, at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. The son of Pete and Levada Dickerson Scroggins, he was born Dec. 28, 1937, and was reared in Napa, graduating from Napa High School in 1956.

After serving honorably in the military, he worked for over 20 years at Mare Island before becoming a commercial fisherman. He has lived in Lake County for the past 21 years. He enjoyed golfing, camping, deer hunting and rooting for the San Francisco 49ers and Giants.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; daughters Belinda and Karla; sons Larry and Vince; a brother, John; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Vance.
