I hope the Napa City Council will accept the Planning Commission’s recommendations on commercial cannabis.
Permitting “limited immunity” is establishing the businesses as “second class.” It's discriminating. Commercial cannabis activity should be a “permitted use.”
Expand the zoning to “Main Street;” it's unnecessary to hide this industry from the public view. Commercial cannabis activity should be allowed anywhere the wine industry is allowed permitted use.
Open sales to the entire community by allowing recreational sales. Planning Commissioner Gordon Huether said he wanted to see “high-end weed bars downtown.” I agree with him. Vallejo is on the way to recreational sales, Napa should have regulations so these new businesses can compete equally.
