Are you a federal employee or retiree? The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) is the only organization dedicated to protecting the earned retirement benefits of federal employees, retirees and their surviving spouse.
In 1921, NARFE was founded by federal workers and has become an effective and highly respected legislative voice for federal workers and retirees in Washington, D.C. Membership of federal employees, retirees, spouses and survivors are united to preserve the economic security and well-being of federal employees on the job and in retirement.
And if you ask "What has NARFE done for me lately?"
NARFE thwarted all attempts by the 114th Congress to cut the earned pay and benefits of federal employees and retirees. It successfully mitigated disproportionate and unfair increases in Medicare Part B premiums. And it protected the postal retirees' health benefits through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, just to name a few ways.
NARFE has been working for you. We are now fighting a battle with the current administration to reverse the thinking of doing away with COLAs.
Napa County is represented by NARFE Chapter 0281, which meets the last Wednesday of each month (except August and December) at 1:30 p.m. in the Napa Senior Center, 1500 Jefferson St.. All active and retired postal and federal employees, their spouses and survivors are welcome.
NARFE is the only organization with service officers that can help you though the process of notifying OPM when a spouse passes away, you need help with health plan benefits or other problems that affect federal employees. For more information and how to become a member, call 255-6789 or 226-3642.
