After reading the article in the Register stating Napa is considering allowing residents to grow marijuana outside their homes, I felt compelled to offer my opinion based on personal experience.

I am a former resident of Napa and currently live in Colorado. The skunk-like stench of marijuana when it is growing is a public nuisance. It pollutes the air with an objectionable odor and can cause nausea in the person smelling the odor.

Whose rights prevail? The right of the public to clean air or the right of the grower to cultivate marijuana outside?

This is an issue that will need to be addressed. Even the smoking of marijuana outdoors creates an awful odor. Does Napa want to preserve the quality or its air or allow marijuana growers to pollute?
