To Jared Horn: My heart is aching for you and your mother. I can’t stop thinking about what you two are going through right now. This is so unfair.
Your father was such a good man and mentor to so many kids in this community. He was such a good teacher of the game of baseball. This world is not going to be the same without him or your little brother. Heaven gets to enjoy them now.
Jared, I know you’re sad and heart-broken, but your dad and brother would want you to continue the game he taught you and your baby brother to play since they day you were both old enough to pick up a baseball.
Jared, pick yourself up and walk back on that pitcher’s mound and throw strikes, young man, and throw shutouts in their honor. Go be the baseball player he groomed you to be. He will be with you every day of your life, looking down from heaven.
Stay Napa Strong and I can’t wait to see you become a great baseball player. Stay strong, Jared; all of Napa is cheering you on.
