About Area Agency On Aging

Your Future Is Our Business

Our Area Agency on Aging (AAoA) serves Napa and Solano Counties. It is one of 33 similar programs in California. Our role is to plan, coordinate, and advocate for the development of local programs to meet the needs of older persons, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers. We are committed to providing services that support seniors in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. We can help you locate services in your area and provide individual assessments to help identify resources. Information about resources and services is available on this website and our staff is available to assist you on the telephone during regular office hours. Our staff can help you understand your benefits and connect you with appropriate programs and services.

Established in 1980, The AAoA is a private non-profit agency, which functions under the direction of a 16 member volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is assisted by a 20-member Advisory Council, which acts as the principal advocate for the counties’ older residents. We receive funds from the federal and state government through the California Department of Aging (CDA), and from Napa and Solano Counties. We also depend on contributions and grants. We then directly provide or contract with local community-based organizations for vital services needed by older adults in our communities. We monitor all programs, assuring that resources are used properly and effectively.
