About Piners Nursing Home

More About Piners Nursing Home

Choosing Long-Term Care for your loved one can be difficult and we know that you have many choices to make.  We also know that many families struggle with the decision because it requires moving their loved one out of their home.  Making the right choice requires discovering which care facility sets itself apart from all the others.

When you visit Piner's, we think you'll see the difference in our unmatched quality of care, our comfortable surroundings, and the little touches of home life.   You can also take comfort that your family member is becoming part of our family also, not just another patient.

Too many times Elders do not thrive in a hospital environment.  Feelings of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom can cause a steep decline. This is why we have adopted the principles of The Eden Alternative, to help our Elders reconnect with life and their purpose in it.

You will see a great difference in the way that we pay particular attention to the comforts of home and cleanliness of our rooms. From our Culinary Institue trained Chef and his kitchen staff preparing fresh and healthy meals, to our therapy services and activities staff making sure that Elders' minds and bodies regain their strength and resilience.

All rooms open to either our beautiful couryard or our lawns through sliding doors.  Free Television, WiFi internet access, games, activities, special events, outings and movie nights are just a few of the things our Elders look forward to every day.

Our History

In 1946, Fern and Wendell Piner bought an old Victorian home on Pueblo Avenue in Napa and settled in to raise their family. Very soon, this home also became the center of their business as they welcomed 12 patients and launched their board and care home.

By the early sixties, the Piners had decided to expand their business, and began construction on the Nursing Home and Guest Home. Because of the untimely death of Wendell in 1964, Fern was left to open the new facilities later that year on her own. She successfully operated the businesses until 1985, when she retired and her son Gary took over.

Today, the Piner family takes great pride in the quality of the services they offer, and constantly works toward excellence.
