Jared Horn got the win and Aaron Shortridge picked up the save for Cal as the Bears won their opener in the Frisco Classic on Friday, 8-2 over Baylor in Frisco, Texas.
The Frisco Classic was played at Dr. Pepper Ballpark, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and a member of the Texas League.

“I felt pretty good. I got hot in the pen and came in expecting to do my best,” Shortridge said on the Cal website. “The slider felt good and I was just out there trying to give us a chance to get a ‘W’ today. It was fun to be out there and compete.”
