Adlee Van Winden, a junior, and Torrey Van Winden, a sophomore, were named American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-Americans for Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, it was announced Wednesday.

It’s the first career All-American awards for the Van Windens, who are both outside hitters for Cal Poly and Vintage High School graduates.

Adlee Van Winden was previously named to the All-Big West Conference First Team and was selected Pacific North AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention.

Her younger sister, Torrey Van Winden, was selected to the Pacific North AVCA All-Region First Team and was All-Big West First Team for the Mustangs.

Cal Poly (27-3 overall) won the Big West Conference championship and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Ryan Imhoff, a 6-foot-6 senior guard for the Carroll College (Helena, Montana) men’s basketball team, was named as the Frontier Conference Player of the Week after a standout performance in a 116-57 win over Salish Kootenai College on Dec. 8.

Imhoff, a Napa High graduate, led the Saints with 17 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in 26 minutes.

It’s the second time this season that Imhoff has received Player of the Week honors.

He is averaging 19.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3 steals per game for Carroll (9-0 overall, 2-0 Frontier Conference).

Imhoff was named first-team on the All-Frontier Conference team and received third-team honors on the NAIA All-America team last year. He was also named to the conference All-Academic team.

The 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, featuring defending champion Jordan Spieth, is Feb. 5-11.

The PGA Tour event, which will also have Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Adam Scott and Bubba Watson, is played at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore Course for three rounds. The final round is at Pebble Beach.

“The popularity of our field plays a significant role in our goal to raise money for our local charities,” Steve John, the tournament director and CEO for Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the host organization, said in a press release.

The celebrity field includes Mark Wahlberg, Carson Daly, Josh Duhamel, Toby Keith, Chris O’Donnell and Kelly Rohrbach, the tournament announced.

In his first Northern California appearance since being selected in the NBA Draft, Josh Jackson scored seven points and had five rebounds and two assists for the Phoenix Suns in Tuesday’s 99-92 loss to the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center.

Jackson is a 2016 Justin-Siena graduate and played two years for Prolific Prep Academy of Napa.

He played last year for the University of Kansas and was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He was among the early entries for the NBA Draft.

Lake Merced Golf Course in Daly City will host an LPGA Tour event in 2018. The name of the tournament is still to be announced, according to the LPGA website, lpga.com, and is scheduled for April 26-29. It’s a new event on the LPGA Tour and is sponsored by L&P Cosmetic.

Next year’s schedule will have 34 tournaments in 14 countries.

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant was named as the Week 8 Western Conference Player of the Week, the NBA announced Monday.

Durant averaged 30.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.00 steals and 2.67 blocks in 36.4 minutes per game, leading the Warriors to a 3-0 record.

Durant had a triple-double (35 points 11 rebounds, 10 assists) at Charlotte on Dec. 6.
