The winner was the Vintage High softball program Saturday when the Crushers varsity team took on former standouts in the first alumni fund-raising contest.

“It was a huge success for us,” said Vintage head coach Ward Mullins. “We raised over $1,300 to go towards the varsity and junior varsity teams. This was a great experience for the varsity to be able to meet and play against former Vintage players. We’d like to thank everyone who participated.”

Ashlee Sills had three hits and scored three runs for the varsity. Kacie Burnett, Lauren Salmon and Dani Laughridge each had hits. Heather Manning went 2-for-3. Sarah Hayes had a hit and scored a run. Mickella Calvin scored twice for the varsity. Brittany Jacques had a hit and scored.

The alumni roster, along with the player’s graduation year, follows.

Noreen Montgomery, 1998

Keri Sedgley, 1997

Cortney Niem Black, 2000

Rebecca Bandy Bash, 2001

Lindsay Frey Colmen, 2001

Amanda Mullins, 2001

Vanessa Mullins Polstin, 1997

Lauren Lemas, 2001

Amber Laughridge, 2001

Andrea Griego,  2002

“I would like to thank the alumni for coming to play,” said former player and organizer Amanda Mullins. “It felt like old times being out on the field with these girls. The point of the event was to raise money for the softball program, but it was also a chance to re-live some great memories we shared on the field together.”
