Host Raneri & Long Roofing/Mark Coleman Insurance ran into a buzz saw on Sunday in the 47th annual Joe DiMaggio World Series on Sunday afternoon in a 14-1 loss in five innings to the River City Outlaws at Cleve Borman Field in Yountville.

River City’s Dan Johnson delivered a leadoff triple to spark a 12-run first inning and 16-hit attack for the Outlaws. Johnson went 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Hunter White and Ignacio Diaz each went 2 for 4 with two runs scored. The former had three RBIs while the latter added two. Spencer Ubois and Alex Smith each went 2 for 3. The former had two RBIs and a run scored. The latter scored twice. Donovan Palma and was the winning pitcher, firing a four-hitter.

Gary Hercules supplied one of few offensive highlights for the Napa club as he had an RBI single to score Mike Caldwell.

Millbrae Mavericks 6, Sierra (Nev.) Sun Devils 3

For Millbrae in a victorious cause, Rory Nicdaid and Joey Carney each doubled. The latter also added an RBI.

Sean McHugh added a base hit, an RBI and a run scored. Dom Guigliani had two hits including a double, an RBI and a run scored. Brian Hidalgo was the winning pitcher as a fired a complete-game victory.

For Sierra, Nate Nolan was 3 for 4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Kody Reynolds had two hits including an RBI.

Tri-County Gamblers 11, Daly City 0 (5 innings)

Tri-County scored three runs in the first inning and four in the second to chase Daly City’s Jacob Blea out of the contest.

Trevor Ray led the Gamblers offense in going 4 for 4 with two runs scored.

Nolan West and Matt Sanders each went 2 for 3 with a double. The former also added four RBIs and two runs scored. Caleb Parker was 2 for 2 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Trent McDaniel pitched all five innings, giving up just four hits.

For Daly City, Andy Glickfield was 2 for 2.

Pacifica Gamecocks 9, Trinity Maintenance 6

For Pacifica, Kodi Hudson, Brett Berghammer, Garrett Azzapardi, David Smathers, Austin Yarsdale and Kurtis Casperson each had two hits. Hudson had a double, RBI and two runs scored. Berghammer doubled, scored three runs and added an RBI. Azzapardi doubled and added three RBIs. Smathers scored a run. Casperson doubled, scored a run, added an RBI and was the winning pitcher.

For Trinity Maintenance, Daniel Gomez had one hit, one RBI and scored two runs.
