Napa Junior Golf League under way
Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park will offer the Napa Junior Golf League, a month-long introduction to golf that allows players ages 7-15 to compete in nine-hole league matches in a two-person scramble team format.
Participants will learn directly from David Knox, the PGA Director of Instruction at Napa Golf Course during one-hour group practices Feb. 20, 22 and 27 and March 1, 6, 8, 13 and 15. On-course matches will be Feb. 18 and 25 and March 4, 11 and 18.
The registration fee is $275 per player and includes a golf shirt, golf cap, ball mark repair tool and bag tag. The league has room for up to 36 golfers. Some prior golf experience is preferred, but the league is for beginners as well. Golf equipment is not required, but encouraged if the junior player has clubs.
To sign up or for more information, contact David Knox at email@example.com or 916-533-4108.
Skyline Swimmers training Sundays at NVC
The Napa Valley Swim Team has a new program for adult swimmers and triathletes, Skyline Swimmers, that meets from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Sundays at the Napa Valley College pool.
It is for adult swimmers of all ability levels, whether they want to improve overall fitness, swim just for fun, develop better technique, or train for triathlons or swimming competitions.
The Skyline Swimmers are coached by experienced swim coach and professional triathlete Emily Cocks.
Each workout costs a drop-in fee of $15 (discounts available for multiple sessions) with no monthly fees, ongoing charges, or other commitment.
All attending swimmers must be registered with US Masters swimming or USA Triathlon. Members of masters’ teams and other training groups are very welcome to drop in.
