Junior golf sessions offered at Napa Golf Course

Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park will be hosting practice sessions for junior golfers starting Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. All classes will be held at the driving range and putting green. There is no charge to junior golfers, both boys and girls, up to age 18.

Practice sessions are also used to form a team that will play for Kennedy throughout the summer against other Bay Area golf courses. There will be both a junior boys and girls team. These teams will play at seven different courses, and there is a charge of $45 to those that make the team. The $45 fee includes six free rounds of golf, six buckets of practice balls and a golf shirt with the course logo.

To those juniors that want to learn golf and don’t have the equipment, the program will furnish free of charge what you need. There are five sets of donated golf clubs that are available free of charge at the first practice session.

Practice sessions are led by PGA pro Tom Sims and will be held each Saturday until school lets out, then it is switched to Thursdays throughout the summer. These practice sessions are free.

Napa will be playing seven different courses during the summer, and are usually played on a Monday or Tuesday, and meets at 12 p.m. for lunch and practice, and then tees off at 1 p.m. Courses that Napa plays include Healdsburg, Ukiah, Middletown, Windsor, Bennett Valley and Petaluma.

There is a final fun match in August. This fun tournament costs $10 to all that play, that includes invited parents and friends.
