The St. Apollinaris eighth grade girls basketball team has had a very busy and successful last couple of weeks.

St. Apollinaris first finished off the regular season with a 9-0 mark and the league championship by beating second-place St. Eugene’s of Santa Rosa, 42-22.

St. A’s then won the St. John the Baptist 100-year tournament, which was held at Justin-Siena High School, with a 3-0 mark by defeating the host St. John’s eighth graders, 29-15.

This past Saturday, St. A’s won its third consecutive North Bay Catholic School League Tournament championship by defeating St. Francis of Sonoma, 45-32.

In the championship game, Rebecca Reynolds led the team with 13 points, while Ally Jackson, Emmy Morrison and Carlyn Bacci had seven points, and Maggie Bowman added six points.

Katie Stilwell had four rebounds and played well defensively. Kendall Martin and Hannah Chau also stood out on defense.
