Napa Valley took the early lead Saturday with a goal by Nester Paniagua off an Alex Perrotti corner kick five minutes into the match. A goal on a strong shot by Andrew Carlile made it 2-0.
Tracy answered with two goals and the score remaind 2-2 at halftime.
With no subs available, and both of regular goalies absent, Napa Valley started the second half recharged with sheer determination to finish strong.
With 10 minutes left, center defender Carlos Gutierrez had to leave the game with an injury to the ankle. Napa was left a man down on the field but did not give up. Soon after, Carlile made a long cross from the right to goal and Paniagua was in the right place again to score what would prove to be the winning goal.
Rounding out coach Rogelio Ochoa’s Napa Valley team on Saturday were Jose Fuentes, Jorge Chavez, Garrett Momsen, Evan Gregory, Edwin Romero, Brandon Duong and Manny Maravilla.
