Rodney Clark, a 23-year investment banking veteran, has joined Sean Maher as a principal and shareholder of Maher Advisors, the global wine industry’s premier M&A advisory firm, based in St. Helena.
“I’m excited about Rodney joining me to help drive our firm to new levels,” said Sean Maher, founding principal of Maher Advisors. “He and I have collaborated over the past five years on a number of wine-related transactions, and I know that his knowledge, experience, relationships and insights will offer tremendous value to our clients.”
Clark said, “Maher Advisors is the ideal platform from which to service the wine industry. We offer deep domain expertise built over decades of working in the broader wine industry, and we couple that with what we believe is really unparalleled transaction expertise — a compelling combination.”
Prior to joining Maher Advisors, Clark was managing director and head of consumer and retail investment banking at Canaccord Genuity. That role was preceded by similar positions in consumer investment banking at the Presidio Group, Piper Jaffray, Lehman Brothers, Thomas Weisel Partners and Montgomery Securities.
Clark specializes in mergers and acquisitions advisory work, public offerings and private placements, and has completed more than $64 billion in aggregate transaction volume during his more than 23 years in the industry. He holds a master’s in business administration (with honors distinction) from Columbia Business School, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, and he has completed the Wine Executive Program at UC Davis.
