The inaugural Rootstock, a new conference designed for top-quality grapegrowers, vineyard and winery owners, and winemakers, will be held Nov. 13 at the Napa Expo Fairgrounds.
Presented by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers this one-day summit combines Napa’s past stellar events – the Wine + Grape EXPO and Viticulture Fair – into one annual showcase connecting vineyard practices to wine quality.
The event will provide access to seminars and industry experts, wine trials and tastings, and a trade show featuring an estimated 120 of the industry’s viticulture and enology companies.
“After 24 years of alternating our previous events, we realized that the continued maturation of the global wine industry requires an innovative gathering that reflects growth and the pursuit of quality,” said Michael Silacci, winemaker at Opus One, NVG board member, and Rootstock founder.
The event kicks off with an opening night reception on Nov. 12, followed by a full day of speakers and a floor of exhibitors. Tickets are $275 general admission, $175 for NVG members and $25 for floor passes.
As a companion to Rootstock, the NVG will host the signature Leadership and Professional Development session in Spanish on Nov. 12 at the event site. This educational opportunity is offered through the NVG’s Farmworker Foundation. For information, visit NapaGrowers.org.
