Where balance is all

Jim Young, left, Jacky Young, center, and St. Helena Mayor Ann Nevero pause against a backdrop of stainless steel wine tanks at Young Inglewood Vineyards following last week’s official dedication of the Youngs’ winery on Inglewood Avenue. The property, once owned by the Lewelling family, now includes about 15 acres of grapes — a Bordeaux-style blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc as well as some malbec and petit verdot. The winery’s first release, a 2009 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, is available on a first-come basis.  Future plans include a “Right Bank Blend,” made by Young Inglewood winemaker Scott Young, the second generation of Youngs involved in the business of wine.
