Meghan Scheibal and Robin Shay are delighted to announce their engagement, and plan to celebrate their wedding on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011 at Villa Montana in St. Helena.
Meghan is the daughter of Tom and Linda Scheibal of Calistoga. A native of the Napa Valley, she attended St. Helena High School and graduated from Santa Rosa High in 2000. She went on to earn a bachelor of music degree at Loyola University New Orleans, graduating magna cum laude. A classically trained mezzo-soprano, Meghan spent five years studying under various internationally renowned teachers in Milan, Italy, and performed frequently throughout the country.
She returned to the United States in 2008, after being accepted at the Manhattan School of Music, where she graduated with a master’s degree in music. Meghan continues to perform internationally, and is well known in this valley for her charitable performances through Young Musicians for Young Humanitarians.
Robin is the son of Susan Shay, a resident of St. Helena, and the late Paul Shay. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Robin later attended George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove, Nev., and graduated from Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach in 1997. Robin then attended the University of San Pablo in Madrid, Spain, and graduated as salutatorian of his class, earning the equivalent of a master’s degree in economics and business administration. During this period he was awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Lusiada in Lisbon, Portugal, and the University of Padova, Italy, where he also qualified as a sommelier.
He is currently the sales and marketing manager for the Americas for one of Italy’s leading wineries. Robin and Meghan currently live in New York City.
