Monica Nissen and Boyd Dennington were married on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the St. Helena Catholic Church in St. Helena. The reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride, a 2002 graduate of St. Helena High School, is the daughter of Anne and Peter Nissen of Calistoga. She graduated from the University of Arizona in Tuscon, Ariz. in 2006 with a degree in political science.
The groom is the son of Dr. Robert Dennington of Dallas, Tex.; and Nancy Dennington of Scottsdale, Ariz. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a degree in microbiology.
The wedding party included the bride’s sister, Margaret Nissen, as the maid of honor; and Ginnie Weatherwax and Marilyn Luk as the two bridesmaids. Clark Dennington served as the best man and the three groomsmen were Joseph Dennington, Joseph Casey and Conor Dunn.
The couple met while attending the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. Dennington proposed to Nissen while visiting the ruins at Machu Picchu in Peru in March 2006. The couple honeymooned in Aruba.
The couple currently lives in Houston, Tex. where Dennington is currently attending dental school and Nissen is completing her master’s degree in education.
