Monica Jean Winters and Derek Stephen Taylor were married June 16, 2012, at Old Mission Santa Inés in Solvang. Father Gerald Barron performed the double-ring ceremony and celebrated a nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Suzette and Jeff Winters of San Jose. The groom is the son of Jennifer Callistini Edwards of Napa and Kenneth Taylor of Napa.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Kate Sitter, the matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Vanessa Ferreira of Petaluma, Erin Lagier of San Leandro, Sarah Jones of Citrus Heights, Theresa Migler-Von Dollen of Corvallis, Ore., and Brie Spells of Santa Barbara.
The best men were Mike Poggetti of San Francisco and Adam Williams of St. Helena. The groomsmen were Andre Bouligny of San Ramon, Banyon Kirkendall of Finley, Nick Roman of St. Helena, and Sean Sitter, brother-in-law of the bride, of San Jose.
Bennett Ghiringhelli of Napa, son of the groom’s cousin, was the ring bearer. Lily Levine of Campbell, daughter of the bride’s cousin, was the flower girl. The reception was held at the Alisal Guest Ranch in Solvang.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School, a 2004 graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and a 2011 graduate of Sonoma State University, where she received a master of science degree in nursing. She is a staff nurse at both St. Helena Hospital and Birth Choice Health Clinic.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of St. Helena High School and a 2007 graduate of Fresno State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in oenology. He is assistant winemaker at B Cellars in Calistoga.
The blissful newlyweds reside in St. Helena and are planning a January honeymoon in Costa Rica.
