The St. Helena Catholic Church and Grace Episcopal Church are teaming up to offer a free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at the St. Helena Catholic School gym at the corner of Oak Avenue and Tainter Street.
Kaitlyn Russell, who’s chairing the event, said she expects about 200 people to show up, plus 50 meal deliveries to people at home. That’s up from 150 in attendance plus 25 deliveries last year.
The “fun and festive” event will include traditional American Thanksgiving food, pies, sparkling cider, coffee, beer and wine, Russell said.
St. Helena parishioners donated money, Sunshine Foods donated ham and turkey, and Panevino donated bread sticks.
Everyone is welcome, and no RSVP is necessary.
