St. Helena’s Grace Episcopal Church will hold its traditional healing prayers during both its 8 and 10 a.m. services on Sunday, Nov. 26.

During the sermon, individuals can choose to come to the altar for individual prayers with one of Grace’s intercessors or clergy. Prayers may be offered for ourselves, those we love, the community, region, nation and world.

Also on Sunday, a family potluck dinner of “Thanksgiving Leftovers” along with a simple Eucharist will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. All ages are welcome.

The deadline for signups for the Adopt a Family is Saturday, Dec. 2. Anyone who wishes to adopt a needy family, which is operated through the Upvalley Family Centers in both St. Helena and Calistoga, can call the church office, 963-4157 to sign up. Those wishing to adopt a family will buy gift cards, so the families can buy exactly what they need and want this holiday season.

The church’s Seventh Annual Quiet Christmas celebration will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the church. According to a church handout, “In this busy time before Christmas, we are offering you a place and time to ‘rest awhile.’ It seems particularly important this year to get in touch with the ancient rhythms of light and dark that call us to slow down and to reflect that God is in our midst at all times.”

For more information, call Helen Christianson at the church, 963-4157 or Julie Garvey, 280-0279.

Grace Episcopal Church is located at 1314 Spring St. in St. Helena.
