The St. Helena Star's weekly "Pet Patrol" features cats that are up for adoption at We Care Animal Rescue, St. Helena's nonprofit no-kill shelter. Here are some of cats that have been featured in 2017 and are still looking for a forever home.
To meet any of these fine felines, call 963-7044 or stop by We Care (1345 Charter Oak Ave.) during open hours from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can also go to
WeCareAnimalRescue.org or visit We Care on Facebook.
Roxy is a cute and curious 4-month-old tabby who’s hoping to imprint on her future human, just as soon as they come to meet her.
MaryAnne is a little lap cat, only about 5 years old, who's looking for a quiet, laid-back home to match her personality. She has a sweet and playful disposition.
This queen is looking for her castle. Anya is 8 years old and would like to be the one and only royal pet. She can be sweet as pie but still has a spicy side.
Batman and Robin
Batman and Robin are among the kittens at We Care Animal Rescue who were spayed or neutered and transferred to the kitten room in anticipation of finding their forever homes. Come visit, meet them, and maybe pick one out to be your next feline buddy.
Ellani is a grey tabby with adorable markings, a white-tipped tail and striking gold eyes. She’s around 10 years old, but she still has many years of love to give. She’s a sweet girl, but she likes her own space and may be best suited as the only kitty in the house.
Lochlan’s mesmerizing gaze, exotic features and regal presence make him look like an Egyptian statue. He was born feral, but after interacting with humans at We Care he has now started trusting people and will come up to you asking for wet food and allowing himself to be petted.
Tabitha loves affection and being the center of attention. She doesn’t like other animals too much, but she definitely loves people and wet food. Tabitha has been at We Care since she was 1 year old, and she deserves a loving family who would be patient with her as she adjusts to forever home.
Liam and Heartbreaker
Liam and Heartbreaker encourage you to support We Care Animal Rescue in the annual Napa Valley Give Guide, running through Dec. 31.
Prince is 12 years old and still full of energy. He loves to play and steal other kitties’ wet food. His friend Caleb is the same age, and they play wrestle every day. You can’t pet Prince without him trying to give you a kiss. He is a very gentle and loving boy who’s good with other cats and with people.
Penny is a stunning princess with eyes like emeralds. She and her kittens were strays brought to us because they were unsafe where they were living outside. She is a very affectionate and gentle 2-year-old girl. She adjusted to our rescue quite quickly and is always following us around as we work.
Marina is a beautiful 7-year-old brown tabby (with some white) who loves tummy rubs and naps. She is very affectionate and gets along fine with other cats. Her eyes get a little weepy at times, but besides that she is healthy as can be.
Lilah is playful but gentle, and loves people of all ages. She gets along with other cats and would make the perfect addition to a family with kids and other pets. She came to We Care with her brother and two other litters from the Napa Shelter in late 2016.
Inky can be shy at first, but once she gets to know you she will be all over you. She loves to crawl up onto your chest. She has the look of a cartoon black cat with her pointy ears and big bright eyes. She loves to hang outside in the sun and be loved on.
Rosalie came to We Care because her owner couldn’t take care of her anymore. She had a hard time adjusting, but now she’s incredibly happy, healthy and affectionate. She loves being spoiled to pieces, so she’d be happiest in a home where she’s the only cat.
Meet Mouse, an all-gray female who was surrendered to the Napa County Animal Shelter and then brought to We Care. Her left eye has a spot in it that gives her a very unique look. She loves to talk and follow you around all day. She is a petite cat who is full of love. Mouse would make a very good addition to a home with no pets.
