Marble Crest

In August, Troop One Boy Scouts spent four days in the Marble Mountain Wildnerness and took a side trip to Marble Crest, a precipice more than 2,000 feet straight down.

Boy Scouts from St. Helena Troop One will be gathering retired Christmas trees for recycling, combing the streets of St. Helena on the morning of Saturday, Jan. 6.

Britton Tree Service has agreed to grind them as mulch. A suggested donation of $10 to Troop One is suggested; however, all trees will be picked up regardless. The best way to contribute is to purchase a pickup tag in advance and hang that on your tree. These tags are available until Friday, Jan. 5, at Steves Hardware and Sunshine Foods.

Please have your tree free of decorations and placed out at curbside by 8 a.m. Saturday. Each street in St. Helena will be covered once and may not get a second pass, so it’s important to get them out early.

All contributions will be used by the troop to ensure its Scouts continue an exciting outdoor program. Any questions can be directed to Ann Sorenson at 963-7465.
