A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop near St. Helena on suspicion of transporting marijuana, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Victor Ray Mikkelsen, 32, of Sunnyvale, was traveling in a SUV northbound on the Silverado Trail when a CHP officer stopped him north of State Route 128, CHP Officer Jake Ramos said.

Mikkelsen was stopped after someone called him in for reckless driving and a possible drug violation, Ramos said.

The officer found between 7 and 8 pounds of marijuana inside plastic storage containers in the silver Toyota RAV4, Ramos said.

Mikkelsen was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of transporting marijuana, Ramos said.

It's so important to drive mindfully when one has precious cargo. What a waste!
    Legalize and tax accordingly.
