Our community lost someone very special when we lost Bruce Frank last month. As a counselor at St. Helena High, he guided our children through the halls of their high school years and on to whatever paths lay before them. He supported kids who wanted to go on to college and would never let finances be a reason for them not to, helping them to find whatever assistance they needed through scholarships and other programs. It is for this reason that it felt appropriate to establish a scholarship in his honor and memory.
There will be an event this Saturday evening, Feb. 24, at Grace Episcopal Church to raise the funds necessary to begin this scholarship and keep it going for many years to come. It begins at 7 p.m. and will feature entertainment from the vocal jazz group, Jazz@7, many members of which were Bruce’s students. Suggested donation is $25 but any amount will be greatly appreciated.
If you cannot attend Saturday but wish to contribute you may send a check made out to Grace Episcopal Church, putting Bruce Frank Scholarship on the memo line. Mail it to 1314 Spring St., St. Helena. Hope to see you there.
