The eighth annual Napa Valley Education Conference, “Understanding Memory Loss: Strategies for Success VIII – A Day With Teepa Snow,” which was held in December, was presented by the North Bay Alzheimer’s Association, in partnership with Collabria Care and Senior Helpers. Approximately 400 family caregivers and professionals were in attendance at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville, Teepa Snow, one of the leading educators on dementia care with over 30 years of clinical experience, addressed practical ways in recognizing the presence of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, as well as offering techniques on how to modify support, care and the environment in order to optimize care for the person with the diagnosis. The Conference was very interactive with the goal of providing knowledge, skills and attitudes that will change daily outcomes of care. Maira Ayala, Field Representative for Congressman Thompson at right, presented a Congressional Certificate to the Alzheimer’s Association and Collabria in recognition and appreciation of their leadership in organizing the Napa Valley Education Conference.
