Dylan Ito, left, is the creator of the Reading for a Smarter Tomorrow. He is seen with the top three readers, Alex Garcia, third place, Nicole Mirski, first place, and Cameron Chavez, second place. As part of a project, Dylan began a program to encourage all students in grades second to fifth to participate in reading. The goal was to read a minimum of 100 pages per grade level to qualify for a root beer float party. More than 50 students who enjoyed the party read a total of 163,673 pages.
