The unemployment rate in Napa County was 3.3 percent in November, down from a revised 3.6 percent in October and below the year-ago estimate of 4.3 percent.
This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4 percent for California and 3.9 percent for the nation during the same period, the Employment Development Department (EDD) reported.
Countywide, there were 3,100 unemployed locals one year ago, compared to 2,400 this November, EDD reported. At the same time, the labor force rose from 72,400 to 73,400 people.
Napa County had the 11th lowest unemployment rate in this state -- tied with San Diego County.
Sonoma County’s rate was fifth lowest and Solano County’s rate 21st. San Mateo had the lowest unemployment rate: 2.1 percent.
