Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage announced that it has acquired Fine Northern Oak, a specialized American oak alternatives company.
Fine Northern Oak, based in Appleton, Wis., will operate as part of the Seguin Moreau group. An extended agreement was reached with Fine Northern Oak’s wood supplier to ensure consistent quality and additional volume of oak.
The cooperage will acquire the Fine Northern Oak brand, as well as existing inventory and equipment. Founder David Plumb remains with the company. Current sales agent Philippe Michel of Oak Tradition will continue to represent the company in the Pacific Northwest.
“This acquisition is in line with our development of top quality products specialized in their market, respecting entirely their own philosophy and strategy,” said Nicolas Mähler-Besse, Seguin Moreau President & CEO.
“We have seen the great results of Fine Northern Oak products in the marketplace and they align perfectly with Seguin Moreau’s dedication to innovative, quality products with great research and development,” said Christopher Hansen, general manager of Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In related news, Fine Northern Oak also announced it has hired Roland Sison as California account manager.
Sison will be responsible for sales in California and will report to Marion Ghiringhelli of Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage.
Sison has more than seven years of sales experience, most recently selling laboratory equipment for chemical analysis to wineries throughout California and the western U.S.
“I am grateful for this amazing opportunity with Fine Northern Oak and thrilled to represent the brand,” Sison said.
