The Napa County Safe Routes to School Program needs Calistoga Jr./Sr. High School parent, student, and staff volunteers on November 14th to help identify barriers to safe walking and biking to school!
The Napa County Safe Routes to School Program, coordinated by the Napa County Office of Education and the Napa County Bicycle Coalition, works toward making walking and bicycling to and from school safer for children, and increasing the number of children who choose to walk, bike, carpool, or take transit. One crucial step towards this goal is providing Safe Routes Walk Audits to all of the public schools in Napa County.
The Safe Routes Walk Audit for Calistoga Jr./Sr. High School is scheduled for Thursday, November 14th. The Walk Audit is a 90-minute process that brings together school stakeholders (parents, staff, students etc.) to identify and prioritize the barriers to students safely walking and biking to school and explore solutions. Participation by school stakeholders, who can provide input on safety barriers to walking and biking that are regularly seen/experienced around the school site, is highly valued and encouraged.
Interested? Email the Napa County Bicycle Coalition Program Coordinator Carlotta Sainato at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more and sign-up to participate in the Walk Audit!
