The UC Master Gardeners of Napa County invite the community to join them for a public gardening workshop, “Onions- Garlic- Shallots and other Edible Alliums.” This workshop will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the UCCE Meeting Room, 1710 Soscol Avenue, Napa.

Onions, garlic, leeks, shallots! These aromatic and essential kitchen vegetables are easy to grow in winter gardens, and now is a great time to plant them. Join UC Master Gardeners to learn the basics for growing these edible cousins of amaryllis, as well as suggested varieties for our area and some unusual but useful types. Have a plan for growing some type of onion in all seasons of the year.

There is a charge of $5 per person for this workshop. Registration is preferred, seating is limited. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the workshop is canceled. Register online at For additional information, please call (707) 253-4221. Upvalley and American Canyon residents can call toll-free at (877) 279-3065.
