Fourth Friday Walk for Democracy

A group of concerned citizens will gather in front of the Calistoga Library, 1108 Myrtle St. at noon and “Walk for Democracy” to CalMart and walk back to the library. Participants are encouraged to bring signs with the messages you want to be heard. This is an opportunity to find others who want to explore actions to address your issues.

Flamenco dancing

Dancer, Savannah Fuentes, will be joined by acclaimed Spanish-Romani guitarist Pedro Cortes and singer/percussionist Jose Moreno for a Flamenco dance performance at the Calistoga Art Center, 1435 N. Oak St. beginning at 8 p.m. The performance is inspired by the Spring Fair or Feria, a week-long celebration that embodies the joyful aspects of Andalusian culture. Independence concert

The St. Helena Community Band will perform its annual Independence Day concert in Pioneer Park, 1308 Cedar St. beginning at 3 p.m. Under the able direction of bandmaster Andy Collinsworth, the 30-piece ensemble will play their favorites from Sousa marches to lively show tunes. Community Campout and Movie Night

Calistoga Recreation will host a “staycation” in Logvy Park where community members are invited to bring a tent, chairs, food, drinks, and lawn games and enjoy a movie in the park. Check-in is 5 p.m. with a movie to follow at dusk. The pool will be open until 8 p.m. Cost: $35 per space; movie is $5 for kids and seniors, and $5 for adults. Pre-registration for camping required at recreation@ci.calistoga.ca.us.
