Author talk and signing
Author James Conaway, a New York Times best-selling author, will discuss his newest book, “Napa at Last Light: America’s Eden in an Age of Calamity” at Copperfield’s Bookstore, 1330 Lincoln Ave., starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15.
The Calistoga Chamber of Commerce announced that it was just named “Best Chamber of Commerce in Napa County” in the 2018 North Bay Bohemian Best of Awards.
GoFundMe for victim’s family
Gretchen Brakesman set up a GoFundMe account for the family of Jennifer Gray Golick, a Calistoga High School graduate who was slain March 9 in the shootings at The Pathway House in Yountville. Brakesman said the money will help support Golick’s 9-year-old daughter, and a portion of what is raised will be donated to Paws for a Cause.
“With this tragic event we lost a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a doctor and a best friend,” Brakesman wrote. “All donations for this incredible woman will be used for her memory.”
Café Sarafornia is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Friday, March 16 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be beer, wine, tapas and more. Café Sarafornia is located at 1413 Lincoln Ave.
Calistoga SDA Church, 2102 Grant St. is hosting a preparedness seminar that will include such topics as gardening tips and tools, canning, independent water systems, heating with wood, and solar.
