Workers will start replacing a water main and reconstructing the road on Lake Street between Washington Street and Fair Way on Thursday, July 19.
The project includes replacement of an undersized water main, new water services, replacement of broken sidewalk and road resurfacing. Before the paving work begins, workers will have to trim street trees for equipment clearance.
Starting Thursday and continuing through the end of the project, Lake Street between Washington Street and Fair Way will be closed to through traffic between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be allowed to access Lake Street during construction. Detours will be in place for through traffic, and traffic congestion is expected.
The city awarded the $600,000 contract to Northern Pacific Corporation of Napa. The work is scheduled to be complete by Aug. 31.
The city’s Public Works Department apologizes for any inconvenience, thanks members of the community for their patience, and asks that drivers use extra caution in the area and obey all traffic signs and flagmen.
