Joe Birleffi said goodbye to this world at the age of 73 on October 21, 2016, after bravely battling cancer. Joe is predeceased by his parents, Gino and Mary Birleffi and son-in-law Brian Trainor.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicole, son-in-law Stephen Newman, and their children Elijah and wife Sara, Adriana, Joseph, Kaia and Joe’s great-granddaughter Sage; also by his daughter Amanda Trainor and her son Brian; brother Bernie Birleffi and his wife Cathy and their daughter Cathy Ann; sister Barbara and her husband Jerome Davis, and their children Kara, Deborah, Angela, and Darrel.
Joe was born in Greenriver, Wyoming in 1943. Joe graduated from Calistoga High School and later attended Santa Rosa JC. Joe served in the Army and was general manager at Birleffi Motors for many years. He was an active member of the community, working as a docent at Sharpsteen Museum and serving as president of the O.L.P.H. Men’s Club.
Joe loved fast cars, riding motorcycles, cooking, Hawaii, and spending time with the friends he so cherished. His contagious smile, fun-loving spirit, and heart for others are just a few things that will truly be missed.
Prayers will be offered during the rosary on November 1, 2016 at 7pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 901 Washington St. Calistoga. Funeral service is 10 a.m. November 2, 2016 also at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Father Angelito Peries officiating. Celebration of life reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
