UVFC hosts immigration workshop on Oct. 5 in Calistoga
In collaboration with the Citizenship Legal Services Collaborative, UpValley Family Center (UVFC) is hosting a “Know Your Rights Workshop” on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Calistoga Community Center, 1307 Washington St. The workshop will cover changes in immigration policies following the announcement of the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
No new DACA applications are being accepted since this announcement. People whose DACA status will expire between Sept. 5, and March 5, 2018 can submit a renewal application, but must do so by Oct. 5, 2017. If you or someone you know has questions about their DACA status, please contact UVFC’s Immigrant Integration Program at: 965-5010. Funds are available locally to assist DACA recipients with paying for the renewal application fee. See additional online resources developed by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. This workshop will be held in Spanish with translation into English. For answers to questions, contact Indira Lopez: email@example.com.
