Good morning, friends.
Some mornings it’s a bit difficult to leave my warm bed and get myself to the gym by 8 a.m., but once there, I’m inspired by my gym buddies. We are all of the same mind. We love life and want to continue enjoying it with good health and vitality, and, of course a good attitude, and a healthy mind.
We have wonderful instructors, helping us out when we need them, cheering us on when we don’t. It’s all very upbeat and fun. There is no way that I could do this on my own at home. A huge part of what gets me to the gym are my good friends. Many of us have been attending Christy Kling’s Adaptive PE class for more than 10 years.
I find it important to set goals for myself. I’m struggling, but have made up my mind, that I am going to go for 3 miles on the treadmill. I’m half way there. Goals are good for us. It’s stimulating and you know some of these goals are going to be tough, but that just makes them more fun when you do reach your goal. So I’ll be pushing for three miles per day, four days a week.
Something that helps me, and I have no idea why, is keeping a journal. It tends to push me along, almost encouraging me to “go for it.” It’s a bit like chatting with your best friend.
It’s great for measuring our successes and celebrating small victories. By free-wheeling, amazing things come and go in my mind when I’m writing. It must be therapeutic, as well as being a great experience. You’d be surprised at the thoughts that come into your mind — thoughts that reinforce your reasons for exercising, as well as other activities.
Life is thrilling and exciting, and I love being challenged and meeting those challenges. It’s the difference between an exciting life and a dull life. We are as young and vital as we feel, and so much of how we feel begins in our heads where we make our decisions.
I’m inspired even more when I hear that a busy mind is a healthier mind and that when you are physically active, your mind benefits, as well as your body.
I truly believe that a busy life is a happy life. Please join me in taking on a new task and setting out to achieve the task. It’s great fun to stay as active as you can, doing things that give you great pleasure.
Remember to smile and be kind to one another.
I always love hearing from you. firstname.lastname@example.org
