Friends, family, and avid Calistoga Wildcats supporters took a break from prevailing news about the anniversary of the October wildfires and lined the sidewalks the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 5 for the Homecoming parade before the big football game that night.

The high school marching band played a rousing tune, while other students rallied support for their school’s sports teams.

Seniors hoping to be crowned King and Queen of this year’s homecoming graciously waved to the crowd from the backseats of classic convertibles.

Later that night, those honors were bestowed on Abad Cuenca and Kata Rojas.

Other royalty crowned were: Junior Prince and Princess Anthony Cortez and Victoria Montanez; Sophomore Prince and Princess Ignacio Mendoza and Jimena Guerrero; and Freshman Prince and Princess Christian Caldera and Daniella Chicas.

The Wildcats proceeded to play a tough game against the rival Branson Bulls. See page B1 for sportswriter Gus Morris’ vivid details of the game.
