I am writing to support Elizabeth Goff for the Napa Valley College Board of Trustees. As a teacher, community volunteer, and visionary leader of our community, Beth has proved her capabilities to all who know her. I first got to know Beth during our time on the Parks and Community Services Commission, where she took the time to understand big pictures issues affecting our community. She had a knack for engaging our youth and could frequently be found at meetings with students in tow, or supporting a student appearing at City Council.
I stayed in contact with Beth as she created mentoring programs, the WEB Program at American Canyon Middle School and the Link Crew Program at American Canyon High School. These programs have helped hundreds of students be prepared academically and socially for their college and careers. As a teacher, she is incredibly well-respected. In all she does, Beth exemplifies the best qualities of a leader: honesty, transparency, and passion. She will use these qualities to create a better connection between American Canyon High School and Napa Valley College.
