Girls on the Run Napa & Solano hosts 5K fundraiser on May 12
Girls on the Run Napa & Solano hosts its annual spring 5K fundraiser at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 12 at Solano Community College in Fairfield.
This year’s theme is Be A Hero. All community members, including boys, men and women, are invited to attend this fundraiser in a cape to run, walk, soar, or leap through this year’s course.
In addition to the 3.1-mile walk/run, this year’s event will include a 24-Hour Fitness obstacle course, Macaroni Kid Vacaville Kraft Station, SHERO Hair, and Defender Face Painting.
Registration is $30 in advance; $10 for Girls on the Run past participants and scholarship families. Registration is $40 if you sign up on the morning of the event.
All 5K finishers receive a T-shirt and healthy treats, including Clover Chocolate milk.
GOTR Napa & Solano is a healthy empowerment program that combines a national research-proven life-skills curriculum with engaging discussions, activities and fitness. This year, more than 590 girls, ages 8-13, from Napa and Solano counties participated in the Spring program, which culminates with the 5K.
Solano Community College is located at 4000 Suisun Valley Rd. in Fairfield. Girls on the Run Napa & Solano Be A Hero 5K festivities run from 8-11 a.m.
