Donations continue to roll in to Give Big St. Helena, bringing the tally for the virtual fundraiser benefiting school enrichment programs to $239,717.95 as of mid-Tuesday.
A full-page ad in this week’s Star lists almost 1,000 donors who have contributed to the online campaign. More than $20,000 has been donated since the fundraiser officially culminated on March 24. Donations are still being accepted at GiveBigStHelena.org.

The money will be split among the St. Helena Public Schools Foundation and the parent groups for each of St. Helena’s four public schools. Grants will benefit enrichment programs that are outside the regular curriculum, such as field trips, guest speakers and special student projects.
Replacing the defunct Just Imagine wine auction, the campaign relied on social media and fundraising campaigns by individual families. Organizers have declared it a major success, and tentatively plan to do it again next year.
